You might read or hear the Gorky Park name in books, music, movies, or any other places basically, and that's because the park is famous in the world since it's the central park to one of the greatest cities in the world. The 120-hectare Gorky park complex is located and built at the Krymsky Val, near Moskva River by the designs of Konstantin Melnikov, the famous Soviet architect, in 1928.

The new director of the central park and culture, Sergi Kapkov, demolished over 100 illegal attraction in the park and covered the area with new asphalt, in 2011. He had planned to transfer the central park into an ecosystem friendly park, and for those plans, he needed to destroy the abandoned buildings, stands, advertising structures in the park. The new-face Gorky Park could now compete with lead parks in the world after these changes.

For competing with the leading parks in the world, these changes were necessary, but it was not enough. The now free entry park was announced to be open for 24/7. Wi-Fi internet coverage was given to visitors for free, and a place for babies care added to the park. They used contemporary art as the new park decorative and design. However, one of the things that made the park more organized was given a particular spot for every street artists that desired to perform in the park. The singers, magicians, gymnasts, and all the street artists, in general, had a specific spot to perform legally. This action made the work for street artists simpler and at the same time, kept the park looks and peacefulness together.

Another great facility that added to the park after the reconstruction would be the 15000 square meter Ice rink which has a separate area for children, hockey field, figure skating section, and general skating for adults. The Yagudin skating school took place in this rink during the winter.

Also, a big part of the park dedicated to the Muzeon which is an open-air museum of more than 1000 sculptures, ponds, and artworks from famous artists of Russia. Artists such as Vera Mukhina, Vladimir Lempert, and many more sculptors from the Soviet era and after. However, the Muzeon is not only an open-air museum, but it's also a small cultural center inside the heart of Gorky park with many sections for displaying movies, performing theaters, and holding small music concerts. In recent years, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art transferred its headquarter into the park to give the park even more credit in terms of history and art.

Besides the museums and their amazing sculptures, the sports sections, there are still more spots in the park that worth the visit. For instance, one of these spots would be the roof of the entry arch which has special devices to observe the magnificent view of the park and surrounding area. There are several ponds and piers to have a quiet or romantic time within the park. There's a greenhouse which they grew exclusive plants and flowers inside it, and many more fountains, cascades, and of course the central ally fountain which is astonishing in its own way.
